I was co-opted on to the Farnham Parish Council in 1999. Wishing to be involved in Farnham’s thriving and friendly community, my initial responsibility was to update the village emergency plan and attend emergency plan exercises and meetings.
Following a career in international business I qualified as a fitness instructor and personal trainer and ran fitness classes in the village until the Covid lock down, the classes continue but not in the village with some villagers still attending.
I initiated and assisted in fund raising to install three Defibrillators in the village and continue with the responsibility for their maintenance and weekly reporting on their readiness for deployment.
I inherited and enjoy the position as the local organiser for the annual collection for the Royal British Legion.
My current responsibilities as a Parish Councillor is as the foot and bridle path representative reporting to and supported by the public rights of way department in Essex County Council .
